Lyric Anderson is a pianist, composer, and arranger raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts. A double-degree graduate of Oberlin College & Conservatory (BM in Jazz Performance, BA in Environmental Studies), he has studied privately with Grammy-winning pianists Luis Perdomo and Sullivan Fortner Jr., as well as pianist and organist Dan Wall.

Anderson's foundation in music began years earlier. As a member of the Cambridge Rindge and Latin World Jazz Ensemble — one of the Boston area's leading high school jazz programs, led by drummer, bandleader, and educator Guillermo Nojechowicz, also on faculty at Berklee College of Music — he traveled to Panama at sixteen to perform and lead a masterclass at the 2020 Panama Jazz Festival. With the ensemble, he also performed at Ryles Jazz Club, the MIT Broad Institute, Google's Cambridge office, and La Fabrica. During the same years, Anderson spent four years at the New England Conservatory Preparatory School, studying with Boston-based musicians including pianists David Zoffer and Alexei Tsiganov, bassist Rick McLaughlin, and guitarists Caio Afiune and Jamie Stewardson.

At Oberlin, Anderson received the Conservatory Dean's Scholarship and the John F. Oberlin Scholarship, and was selected to perform in the 2025 and 2026 Dannenburg Honors Recital, the 2026 Commencement Recital, and the 2025 Conservatory Welcome Recital. He also wrote and edited for the conservatory section of the Oberlin Review, and was mentored closely by Jay Ashby, Gerald Cannon, and drummer Paul Samuels.

Anderson has performed with Luis Perdomo, Jamey Haddad, Justin Robinson, Steve Davis, Andre Hayward, Joe Magnarelli, Jonatha Brooke, Zach Brock, and NYT bestselling author Adam Mansbach. In New York, he has performed at Smalls, Ornithology, Bar Bayeux, Prospect Park's Prospect Park Jams series, Brooklyn Music Kitchen, The Branded Saloon, and Fiction Bar. Around Boston, he has appeared at the Charles River Jazz Festival, The Lilypad, The Mad Monkfish, Starlight Square, Myopia Hunt Club, and Brockton Arts Gallery. His performances have also taken him further afield, including the Cleveland Museum of Art and the jazz club Intro in Tokyo.

Anderson currently performs regularly throughout the New York and Boston metro areas.
